This is a surgery used to treat excessive upper arm skin, sometimes referred to as “bat wings”. In very mild cases, simple liposuction through several tiny little holes will suffice. However, if a great deal of skin is present, such as in massive weight loss, an incision from elbow to armpit is required to remove the skin. The scar can be long and obvious. It is placed on the inner side of the arm so it is not visible with the arms at the side. Recovery takes 6-8 weeks, but the healing usually can be hidden immediately under long sleeves.
